Description: The SoWa Power Station in an iconic masterpiece of late-industrial glamour. Built in 1896 as the world's largest electric power generation plant, it produced enough electricity to run the West End Street Railway. The century-old property's structural elements have recently been rescued and restored, transforming it into a blank canvass for community, celebration, and innovation. The Power Station has hosted events such as Create Boston, Illuminus, Copenhagen Beer Festival, Fitbit Local, HubWeek, the SoWa Winter Festival, and Cochon555.
Sundays during the SoWa Open Market season, the Power Station doubles as Boston's coolest taproom - the SoWa Beer Barn. The "Barn" features a variety of local brews and ciders handpicked by Craft Collective, live music, lawn games, and good eats from your favorite food trucks.
