Description: Dr. Jones is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and an Associate Attending Physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Jones earned her B.A. from Northwestern Uinversity and M.D. from New York Medical College. She completed her training in Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiology Fellowship at The New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center (now NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College). She has been an attending cardiologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell (NYP-Weill Cornell) ever since. In addition to directing the HeartHealth Program, she is the Director of the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program, and is responsible for the curriculum and training of 18 cardiology fellows at NYP-Weill Cornell. Until July 2014, she was the Director of the Inpatient Telemetry Unit at NYP-Weill Cornell, where she received the James J. Smith Teaching Award twice, the Excellence in Teaching Award from Weill Cornell Medical College and the Leonard Tow Humanism Award. She was named the Sanford B. Ehrenkranz Family Clinical Scholar in Women's Health from 2007-2010.She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease, and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. She is a member of the American Society for Preventative Cardiology, the American College of Cardiology, and the American Heart Association.Dr. Jones' clinical interests and expertise lie in all aspects of cardiovascular care, specifically preventative cardiovascular health, heart disease in women, assessment of coronary artery disease, valvular disease, and hypertension. She continues to be intimately involved in the training of housestaff and fellows at NYP-Weill Cornell, and serves on the committees for Graduate Medical Education and Continuing Medical Education. She is involved in numerous clinical research projects exploring novel agents for hyperlipidemia and adult onset diabetes, imaging to discover preclinical cardiovascular disease, and the effects of stress on cardiovascular and cerebrovascular health.
